Lady Wisdom - Proverbs 31 Woman
The Proverbs 31 woman has been handed to generations of women like a holy to-do list—but that misses the bigger picture.
This woman is Lady Wisdom in action: strong, strategic, skilled, generous, financially savvy, and rooted in the fear of the Lord. She buys land, builds wealth, manages resources, teaches wisdom, cares for the vulnerable, and is praised for the fruit of her own hands.
In this season finale, Cassandra Barbato and Amber Jenks take a fresh look at Proverbs 31 and uncover a pictu...

The Very Good
In Episode 7, The Very Good, we head into the New Testament and meet women who didn’t just sit on the sidelines—they carried the gospel, taught truth, led, served, and worked alongside the apostles.
From Mary Magdalene, the first witness of the resurrection sent to preach the Gospel, to Phoebe, Junia, and Priscilla, Scripture gives us a compelling picture of women actively participating in the work and leadership of the early church. These stories remind us that when God calls, gifts, and sends...

Nailed It!
God didn’t need a “Plan B” when He called women to lead. In this episode, we look at Deborah, Jael, and Huldah—women God deliberately used to lead, speak His word, and deliver His people. We unpack why Deborah’s leadership was not evidence that...

Women Need Not Apply?
Did Paul really hang a “Women Need Not Apply” sign for church leadership?
In 1 Timothy 3, the difference between “if any man” and “if anyone” is no small translation choice. We dig into the Greek, tackle the phrase “husband of one wife,” and explore multiple passages on the subject to see if Paul was restricting leadership to men.
Spoiler: Women may apply.

Women Be Silent
“Women should be silent in church.” Case closed—or is it?
In this episode, Cassandra and Amber take a closer look at 1 Corinthians 14:34–36, the surrounding context, Paul’s rhetorical style, and the very inconvenient fact that Paul had already acknowledged women praying, prophesying, teaching, and participating in the gathered church.
Before we turn two verses into a permanent gag order, it may be worth asking whether Paul was commanding silence—or rebuking the people who were. Because context matters, Scripture interprets Scripture, and tradition should never be allowed to speak louder than the text.

Silly Women, Authority's For Men
Does the Lord allow women preachers and teachers or is 1 Timothy 2:12 really God’s permanent “No Girls Allowed” sign for ministry. Have we mistaken Paul’s response to a troubled church for a universal restriction on every woman, everywhere... forever?
Cassandra and Amber dig into the false teaching circulating in Ephesus, the influence of the goddess Artemis, and the context surrounding Paul’s instruction that a woman should learn quietly. Because turning a church-specific correction into a per...

Let Them Rule
In this episode of Martha, Mary and Mayhem, Cassandra Barbato and Amber Jenks head back to Genesis in search of truth and unity. Turns out God already gave us both when He said, “Let them rule.”
We’re talking Adam, Eve, the garden, the fall, and a few long-standing church assumptions that may need to be escorted politely—but firmly—out of the building. With Scripture open they dig into what the Bible actually says about authority, unity, and the Gospel that redeems what the fall distorted.
